| Defect | Wabash National Corporation (Wabash) is recalling certain 2027 Wabash van trailers. The bumper tube bolts may have been improperly tightened, reducing the protection provided by the rear impact guard. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 223, "Rear Impact Guards." |
| Consequence | An improperly installed guard may not sufficiently protect a following vehicle, increasing the risk of injury during a rear end crash. |
| Remedy | Dealers will tighten the bumper tube bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 14, 2026. Owners may contact Wabash customer service at 1-765-771-5404. |
