Individual was then transported to a medical facility for further evaluation .
2024-07-07New Jersey Transit Corporation20080On Sunday , July 7 , 2024 while on uniformed patrol of Newark Penn Station , Officers were approached by a commuter stating that there are two highly intoxicated individuals that may require medical attention on < REDACTED > by the Taxi Stand . The two intoxicated males were assessed and both needed medical attention and requested Emergency Services Units < REDACTED > for both individuals . The individuals were very emotional and erratic . Upon EMS arrival , EMS along with Paramedics and University ems supervisor arrived on scene . One of the individuals began to scream and held his grip to the fence . With assistance from EMS and Officers on scene , we were able to get him near the stretcher to then have him lay down . The EMT and officer assisted the individual to the stretcher and while attempting to reposition him , he lifted his right arm and swung with a closed fist connecting with the EMT 's face , specifically the left side of his nose . The injury was photographed on scene , and he complained of pain to his nose and head . The EMT was transported to the hospital and reported his nose was swollen and beginning to bruise on the left side . Ultimately , it was reported his nose broke from this assault < REDACTED > < REDACTED > have a concussion .

These lacerations included a laceration to the left cheek , right shoulder , and left shoulder blade . Officers applied gauze pads to these lacerations using direct constant pressure . It should be noted that the wounds were causing the victim to undergo substantial blood loss , as there was blood covering his upper torso and dripping onto the ground around him . victim could not speak , but a witness stated that he had observed the incident and the victim was stabbed / slashed at the site of the incident . The victim was immediately brought into the Trauma Center to be treated for his injuries .

Some juveniles appeared to leave the station by foot while others boarded a bus .
